Hey Lovelies! Are you out of your turkey comas and awaiting all your Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday/Giving Tuesday purchases??? This truly is the best time of the year. So, per my last post, I guess I should confess that I fell off the wagon a tad. The sales were THAT good this year. I'm back on track now though and hustling to make up what I spent!
So today I'm talking about a trend that's been around for a while, but is so under-promoted! RAW EDGE DENIM (or, if you prefer to DIY: CUTOFF DENIM!). This is SUCH a fun trend, you guys. I particularly love it because I pretty much have to cuff or tailor every single pair of jeans I own. With the raw edge trend, all you need is a pair of sharp scissors! You can do the "raw edge," the "step-hem" (think mullet for pants, cut just above the ankle bone in the back and about a 1/2 inch shorter in the front) or the "side-slit" hem. After cutting, just rough up the material a bit with your hands and throw in the washer to complete the look. If you are in a hurry, you can wet the bottom, rough it up and use the hairdryer (this totally works - I've done it!).
I'll be talking more about this fun trend in an upcoming Scoop Charlotte post, but for now I'll leave you with my take on the trend. I paired my cut denim with both heeled booties and leopard heels. Both are a great look and show off your ankle bone (which is another under-promoted pretty)! Since the fall hit, I've been going back to my love of neutrals. This tunic is is soft and comfy - and the color makes my necklace from My Red Bead really stand out!
I'd love to hear what you think of the cut denim trend if you've tried it yourself!
