Ok I'm a just a wee bit fascinated with Kate Middleton. I'll go ahead and admit that. Back in 2011, I was up at 5:00am to watch EVERY SINGLE MOMENT of the royal wedding (the DRESS, her hair, the makeup, the car, the vows, the guests, their hats!). I absolutely LOVE her and William's story, the fact that they broke so many stodgy traditions and are doing things their own way. And let's not forget she might have the best hair in England AND the perfect figure for wearing just about any and every style of dress. I guess deep down, maybe I too, want to be a princess, lol.
SO - when British Vogue announced they would be featuring her on the cover their June issue, her FIRST EVER, I couldn't get my hands on one fast enough. Word to the wise: unless you live in NYC, your local bookstore may only have a handful of copies of foreign magazines. All of which were already purchased when I went to my local store. But, thanks be to God, Google exists. I merely typed in, "June British Vogue" and quickly found an online vendor. I received my precious copy within 5 days. HOORAY! I absolutely love Kate's style...yes, she has access to any designer she wants, yet chooses to does mix and match high and low brands, wear things more than once (quelle horror!), all of which makes her seem accessible and familiar to the everyday girl. She is making a point to be hands-on with her children (just like Diana!) and seems very down to earth. As in the royal tradition, she is involved with many non-profits, one of which is the Nataional Portait Gallery, which will feature several of the pictures taken for this spread, along with many others commemorating British Vogue's 100 year anniversary. Here are my favorite photos from the layout.
