When I moved from Ohio to North Carolina, one thing that I loved was that every SINGLE apartment complex I looked at had a pool. They quickly become a mainstay on my wishlist as I moved around and eventually purchased a home here in Charlotte. I'm a pool girl through and through. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the beach! But truth be told, I'm terrified of the ocean. Especially after all those shark attacks last year...and now sea lice this year? YIKES! And don't even get me started on lakes...ick. Too much at the bottom that I can't see. Plus those supposed monster stories about Lake Norman and alligator sightings are enough to keep me on dry land (or at least safe on someone's boat). So the clear, chlorinated water suits me just fine. I love nothing more than to head to the pool on my beach bike with a book or some magazines and relax in the sun's warm rays for an hour or two. So it's only fitting that I do a photo session at my pool! These pics were taken a few weeks ago when it was still mercifully cool and I was actually able to wear 3/4 length sleeves without roasting! And actually, the eyelet detail on the sleeves of this top act as a natural AC so it's still quite comfortable with temps in the 80s. I love pairing a long-sleeved shirt with shorts, but since I'm only 5'0" I also make sure to add some height with my sandals. Throw on a cute fedora or a floppy wide brim with a cute saying on it, and you are #G2G.
Enjoy the summer and may all your pool days be sunny!
