When one of my BFF's first told me about Bulletproof coffee, it sounded almost too good to be true. She was raving about how it kept her energized and focused all day AND credited it to some weight loss. So I decided to look into it. I researched the creator, entrepreneur and Dave Asprey, who had used his intellect to hack into his own biochemistry, lose and maintain an over 100 pound weightloss through years of research. His story is quite inspiring and the coffee lined up with my Paleo eating habits, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the coffee via Amazon, found the Kerrygold at my local grocery store and added a packet of Truvia, per my BFF's suggestion. I've been drinking this every morning (all you need is one cup!) for about 2 months now and seriously, guys it has kinda changed my life. I no longer get what I called the "after-lunch sleepies" and I feel awake and alert all day long! I have been doing an 8-week work out challenge via Tone It Up, so I can't speak to weightloss with just Bulletproof alone, but I'd be willing to be my friend is right, it's got to be contributing to my overall health. So here's the recipe:*
1 Tablespoon Bulletproof coffee
8 ounces filtered water
1 Tablespoon Brain Octane Oil
1 Tablespoon of grass-fed butter (Dave recommends Kerrygold brand, found at most grocery stores)
Cinnamon to taste (I add some to the coffee prior to mixing as well as a dash on top when it's finished)
Brew coffee and add all ingredients to a mixer like Nutribullet. Combine for 20-30 seconds or until frothy. ENJOY!
*I add one packet of Truvia for a bit of sweetness, although it's probably not necessary
All the accoutrements you need: a Magic Bullet, Bulletproof coffee, Brain Octane Oil, Kerrygold grassfed butter, cinnamon and a truvia!
