Summer Faves

Every summer I have an item or two that I wear on endless repeat. You know what I'm talking about - that perfect white flowy top, the comfiest jeans ever or those great sandals that make you look a foot taller.  So I decided putting all of this summer's faves together might be fun. The destroyed faded wash jeans I found at Target back in the spring and while they are a tad long, cuffing them loosely works (although I'm considering cutting some of the length to slim down the cuff width). And can we take a moment to talk about this top? After seeing it on one of my favorite bloggers (www.poorlittleitgirl.com) it LITERALLY had me running to the closest Loft.  Off the shoulder tops are actually quite versatile, as anyone who has attempted to wear them while moving their arms knows they just slip back up your neck. I say, leave it there for a more conservative look! Then you have two tops in one (and can pull it off for work with an added blazer, cardigan or fun necklace. For drama or Instagram moments, simply pull it down!

Palm Breeze

Hey there lovely ladies! It's Thursday and I couldn't be more excited for the weekend because it's Girls Weekend!!! My friend and her daughter are coming in for a visit from Boone, NC. We'll be hitting the pool, doing our nails, making some paleo ice cream in my new ice cream maker and maybe some shopping too. Well, for my friend - not for me! (see this post for details on why). As you may or may not know, there is no Target store (quelle horror!) so we typically always make a stop there and/or Trader Joe's. Either way, it's going to be a great time catching up and playing Auntie Jen.

So I saw this shirt on another blogger I follow (www.twopeasinablog.com) and immediately FELL IN LOVE. I have been a bit obsessed lately with the palm print. It all started with the Lilly Pulitzer for Target sale when I snapped up a pair of the green palm print pants from the floor and nearly squealed because they were my size! Since then, I've bought this shirt, cushions for my outdoor chairs and saw the perfect sized palm plant that would complete my summer living room makeover (do home items count for #nospendjune?). At any rate, in retrospect I think this shirt would've looked better with a pair of white skinnies but these linen pants have been a periennal favorite of mine for about five summers now. I found them in Nordstrom's junior department and STILL had to have them hemmed. I'm quite sure my tailor loves me. Since the pants are older though, I've linked some similar styles below.

XOXO AND ENJOY THE WEEKEND!
