It's been nearly a year ago since I wrote this post about where we were on our personal journey of adopting. It was interesting looking back to see how long this journey has actually taken. Now, tonight, we are on the cusp of hitting the "order" button for our Profile Book. If you aren't familiar, it's a book made by adoptive parents on Shutterfly or Snapfish (I used Snapfish) to outline to the birth parent who they are. It's the book from which the birth parent chooses the adoptive parent. So basically, this book will play an extremely vital part in our adoptive baby's life. It has literally taken me two weeks to gather pictures, scan some old ones, put them together in electronic form and write the copy for it. We also had some professional shots taken of us for the cover and inside cover, which I've shared below. After what has been a nearly two-year process for us, we are now at the "starting gates"; this is both exciting and scary, as it could happen very quickly and we could literally have a baby in the next couple weeks OR it could take up to 18 months. I'm convinced it won't take anywhere near that long but the not knowing part is about to kill me!!! I'm a planner by nature - you know, one of those Type-A control freaks? Yeah, that's me. SO living life not knowing week to week if THIS week might be THE week is going to be a stretch and true test of my faith. We have been praying for a baby for so long and I do trust that God's timing is the best timing...BUT...wow! The not knowing! At any rate, we are excited for this new chapter in our lives and are have the necessary items to be "ready." So enjoy these pics, feel free to keep me in your prayers and I'll keep you updated on Baby G! And just a fun P.S. - these pics were taken at Winghaven Gardens, where Ken proposed to me almost ten years ago now!
